Effect of Vertical Profile of Aerosols on the Local Shortwave Radiative Forcing Estimation

چکیده
In this work, the effect of aerosol vertical distribution on local shortwave radiative forcing is studied. We computed at top and bottom atmosphere between 0.2 4 microns using libRadTran package compared results with those provided by AERONET (AErosol RObotic NETwork). Lidar measurements were employed to characterize profile, collocated optical parameters required calculate its forcing. A good correlation calculated forcings provide AERONET, differences smaller than 1 W m?2 (15% estimated forcing), obtained when a gaussian profile assumed. Notwithstanding, measured inserted into model, can vary up 6.54 (15%), mean = ?0.74 ± 3.06 BOA ?3.69 (13%), ?0.27 1.32 TOA due multiple layers types. These indicate that accurate information about must be incorporated in calculation order reduce uncertainties.

Enhanced Shortwave Cloud Radiative Forcing Due to Anthropogenic Aerosols
It has been suggested, originally by Twomey (SCEP, 1970), that anthropogenic aerosols in the troposphere can influence the microphysical properties of clouds and in turn their reflectivity (albedo), thereby exerting a radiative influence on climate. This chapter presents the theoretical basis for of this so-called indirect forcing and reviews pertinent observational evidence and climate model c...
متن کاملThe Whitehouse Effect-shortwave Radiative Forcing of Climate by Anthropogenic Aerosols: an Overview
Loadings of tropospheric aerosols have increased substantially over the past 150 yr as a consequence of industrial activities. These aerosols enhance reflection of solar radiation by the Earth-atmosphere system both directly, by scattering light in clear air and, indirectly, by increasing the reflectivity of clouds. The magnitude of the resultant decrease in absorption of solar radiation is est...
متن کاملEstimation of diurnal shortwave dust aerosol radiative forcing during PRIDE
[1] Using measured and derived aerosol properties from the Puerto Rico Dust Experiment (PRIDE), a four-stream broadband radiative transfer model is used to calculate the downward shortwave irradiance (DSWI) at the surface and the shortwave irradiance at the top of atmosphere (TOA). The results of the calculated DSWI are compared against pyranometer measurements from the Surface Measurements For...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
